The Quarantini - My Favorite Dry Martini | |
This is, hands down, my favorite martini recipe. It's dry, slightly bitter, and has a refreshing citrus nose. It's the perfect drink to help you wind down after a long day of quarantining. Like many traditional all alcohol cocktails, this is stirred, not shaken.

The Ingredients |
|
|
- Ice
- Cocktail Shaker
- Heavy Splash (1/4 oz) Dry Vermouth
- Bitters, 4 or 5 Shakes (grapefruit bitters are my favorite for this drink)
- 3 oz Dry Gin (you could use vodka here, but you'll miss the floral and bitter wake-up from Gin).
- Lemon peel for garnish, a nice fat slice.
Assembly:
- Place 1 handfull of ice in a cocktail shaker, and one handfull of ice in your favorite martini glass.
- Add your heavy splash of Vermouth to the iced cocktail shaker and stir the shaker until you the outside of the shaker is cold.
- Strain out most of the Vermouth and reserve the ice.
- Add 4 or 5 shakes of Bitters to the shaker.
- Add your 3 oz of Dry Gin (or 2, 1.5 oz jiggers).
- Stir again until the shaker is frosty.
- Dump out the ice from your martini glass, twist your lemon peel over the glass, and rub it around the rim, and leave the peel in the glass.
- Strain the cocktail into your martini glass and quarantine responsibly.
